Perfect Party Bags

Until I had children of my own I had forgotten the impact of the great party classic – the party bag! One year I remember coming to the end of my son’s party, slightly dishevelled and looking forward to a sit down when my husband suddenly shouted “Don’t forget the party bags!” to which a stampede of 3-year olds charged towards him to collect their treasure disguised in cheap  carrier bags. Their faces lit up more than when the cake had been brought out!

These little loot bags can be done so cheaply yet have maximum impact, leaving the children with a great lasting impression of their party. It doesn’t matter if you like to make them unique, full of interesting bits and bobs or just put in the classic items – the kids will love them regardless. Just try not to forget the piece of cake!

 

The new trend is spending money perhaps a little more wisely by handing out a story book and a piece of cake, but here at Party Cloud we still rate the good old - fashioned ritual so here are some ideas to make your party bag the one they remember.

 

Babies & Toddlers

• Miniature book – top tip, the little boxed books that come in sets of 4/5 are a great way to cut the cost, just pop 1 in each bag!
• Rattle/ teething toys
• Bath toys – again these usually come in sets, just split them into each bag.
• Raisins, buttons, dried fruit, juice pouches

 

 

Younger Kids

• Tiny puzzles – easy to buy in bulk and add a touch of colour
• Stickers – buy a large sheet and cut into strips to pop into each bag
• Mask/ hat – if there is a party theme use this to incorporate a fun paper accessory
• Lolly, love hearts, ice gems or Haribo
• Balloon, party popper or whistle

 

Older Kids

• Mini pin machine – go for retro classics, handy games to play in the car on way home
• Spinner – they can never have enough of these!
• Gunge pot – cheap yet very effective
• Stick on wall critters
• Hair accessories/ nail polish – great for a pamper party theme
